The app uses anonymous Firebase Authentication. Firebase assigns a pseudonymous installation identifier; you do not sign up with an email or phone number.
On your device
Settings, favourites, seen cards, private chat nicknames and cached purchase entitlements are stored locally. Operating-system backups may retain app data.
Shared rooms and infrastructure
Firebase stores room codes, participant identifiers, chosen display names and colours, shared card identifiers and actions, messages and read markers, and presence timestamps. Profile pictures, notification tokens, mute settings and abuse reports can also be stored outside a room. Share room codes privately: another person can join while a participant seat is open. Rooms have two seats.
WebRTC uses technical connection information, including network candidates and call signalling. Calls and touch use encrypted connections, direct where possible and relayed where necessary. The app does not record voice, video or touch media. Call cleanup attempts to remove signalling, but an interrupted call may leave technical records. Firebase and network services process connection information to operate the service.
App product analytics
App builds configured with Amplitude measure app sessions and lifecycle, screens, deck selection, paywall events, purchase and restore events, including store product identifiers in purchase events and the number of entitlements found during a restore, and call connection reliability. Data includes a pseudonymous analytics identifier, device/OS information, app version, language, country-level data, and limited feature properties. Names, profile pictures, room codes, Firebase identifiers, message contents and card text are not sent through the app’s analytics service. Advertising identifiers and precise-location listeners are disabled; city, region and IP-based collection are disabled in the current app configuration. There are no ads.
Website analytics and your choice
The website asks before sending analytics to Amplitude or storing an analytics identifier. Allowing it measures page views, selected language, navigation and store-link clicks, a coarse referral category and the browser time zone. Amplitude also collects the IP address and approximate location (country, city and region). A random identifier is used only for this website; it is not linked to the app’s identity. No form contents, full referring URLs, query strings, room codes or advertising identifiers are collected. Test visits are marked separately.
Your analytics choice is stored locally for up to 180 days. If allowed, a website identifier is stored until you revoke consent or clear browser storage; session attribution expires after 30 minutes of inactivity. Declining leaves downloads and the site usable. Use Privacy settings on any public page to change your choice. Revocation stops future website events and removes the local analytics identity; it does not automatically delete already collected events.
Providers, retention and deletion
Google Firebase provides authentication, database, notifications, functions and hosting. Amplitude provides product analytics. The Amodeck analytics project uses Amplitude’s US endpoint. Providers may process data outside your country; see Firebase privacy information and Amplitude’s privacy policy.
Break removes the shared room and its history, but not every profile, notification, report, authentication, log or analytics record. Room messages remain until the room is deleted; there is no automatic room expiry. Uninstalling does not delete server data or purchases. To request access or deletion, write to support; we aim to handle deletion requests within 30 days and may need information to identify the records. Backups, operational logs or records required by law may have separate retention. See deletion instructions.
Age and contact
Amodeck is intended for adults and older teenagers, not children under 13. Do not provide sensitive information you do not want to share with your partner. For privacy questions or requests, contact support.
