Amodeck is a card game of questions for couples. It works on your device, and it connects two people only when you choose to play together. This policy explains exactly what leaves your phone.
You never create an account. When the app first opens it signs in anonymously to Firebase, which issues a random identifier for your installation. That identifier is not linked to your email, phone number, Apple ID or Google account, and we cannot use it to find out who you are.
Playing together needs a shared room, held in Firebase Realtime Database while the room exists:
Anyone who knows a room code can join that room — this is how invitations work, so share codes only with the person you mean to play with. Ending a chat with Break deletes the room and its history for both people.
Voice, video and the touch effects travel directly between the two phones (peer-to-peer, encrypted by WebRTC). We do not record, store or listen to them. When a direct connection is impossible, the media is relayed through a public STUN/TURN server purely to pass the data through; it is not stored there.
We use Google Firebase (Authentication, Realtime Database, Cloud Messaging, Hosting, Cloud Functions) as our infrastructure. Data is processed on Google's servers under their terms. See the Firebase privacy documentation.
You can remove everything at any time:
Amodeck is intended for adults and older teenagers and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it, and material changes are announced in the app.
